Both acts have confirmed the news via Twitter, with Rita Ora set to perform new single Shine Ya Light and No Doubt performing their new release Looking Hot. Rita returns to the show after acting as guest judge during the audition stages of the competition. Speaking about her time in the judging seat, she told the Metro newspaper that she could relate to the hopefuls. She said: “My advice was that they had three minutes to make a good impression to the public. “That was like me when I went for my record deal – I had three minutes to get signed.” This weekend she’ll be able to relate to them even further as she leaves the judge’s seat behind and takes to the stage.
No Doubt’s new album Push and Shove is their first in over ten year, following on from 2001’s Rock Steady. This week the group’s singer, Gwen Stefani, joined band mate Tony Kanal to mentor The X Factor hopefuls ahead of this weekend’s live shows. Their new single Looking Hot will be released on Tuesday and Rita Ora’s Shine Ya Light is due for release on November 17.
No Doubt released their second single and music video. It’s the band’s sixth studio album to date and this new album “Push and Shove” is their first in over ten-year, following on from 2001’s “Rock Steady”, this music video caused already controversy among the Native American community. And here a statement from the Band below
“As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history. Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realize now that we have offended people. This is of great concern to us and we are removing the video immediately. The music that inspired us when we started the band, and the community of friends, family, and fans that surrounds us was built upon respect, unity and inclusiveness. We sincerely apologize to the Native American community and anyone else offended by this video. Being hurtful to anyone is simply not who we are.” – No Doubt
