Ant-Man

Ant Man poster

On Monday the 6th of July I-Like It A Lot .com was treated with tickets to the first UK showing of Marvel studio’s Ant-Man at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square and boy did we enjoy ourselves. The film is the newest installment to join Marvel’s new Cinematic Universe. Hot on the heels of last years box office successes “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. Peyton Reed directs the story of his childhood hero and one of the original founding members of The Avengers. Ant-Man follows the story of Scott Lang a rehabilitated master burglar. Trying to put a troubled life behind him and focus on building a relationship with his daughter, Scott finds himself on a path, which takes him straight back into the world that he is trying to detach himself from. However aided by the brilliant Hank Pyn, the original Ant-Man who bestows unto him the ability to become Ant-Man, Scott is given the chance to prove to his daughter that he is the real heroic father figure she believes him to be. The cast includes the insanely funny Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, two-time Academy Award winning actor Micheal Douglas, and Evangeline Lilly reprising another strong female role as Hope the daughter of Hank .

The next day we then headed down to Waterloo for a conference talk with the actors. It was interesting to find out the level of training Paul had to do to get into shape for the role commenting “I didn’t do anything fun for a year”… Ughh sounds grueling.  One thing’s for sure however this film is anything but. You will be mesmerized by the amazing visuals which Marvel have concocted when you journey with Ant-Man into his minuscule world and will laugh non stop at the witty sarcasm of Paul Rudd as he adds character to this larger than life superhero.  Ant man is an action adventure like no other, if you’re looking for something new and exciting head down to your local cinema on the 17th of July for something spectacular.
