Astrid Andersen Spring/Summer 2016 takes us to the 90’s – to an age of analog effects and 8-bit interpretations of the future. Hip hop videos in the golden age of music TV
and cult classics like “Big Trouble in Little China” set in fantasy Special-FX universes. Astrid’s first trip to Shanghai consolidated this inspiration and this season’s overarching mood
became one of looking to the past whilst trying to create visions of the future. Astrid Andersen continues to define luxury for a new generation and drive a way of dressing for a new
man between formal and casual wear.

Made possible by the Red Bull Catwalk Studio, this season she worked on a very special project with her ultimate muse A$AP Ferg. “I find true inspiration in his strength as an artist
and as a human and how he can translate that into a strong art form and vision. This whole collection is an homage to men who dare to dress bravely and have a point of view” (Astrid
Andersen). Astrid Andersen and A$AP Ferg co-created a fashion film and bespoke soundtrack to accompany the collection which debuts tonight.
Inspired by China and it’s current day place at the cross-roads of tradition and the future, the collection features print on fine silks in dusty blues and pastel purples with intricate silver
embroidery and custom woven neon heat-transfers. For the third season Astrid Andersen has partnered with Avery Dennison RBIS to develop embellishments throughout the collection
using high definition heat transfers featuring shimmer and embroidery effects on oriental flower patterns. Neon pop color woven badges are heat applied to bring texture and depth to
the branding. Astrid explored traditional visual cues of China and it’s blend and balance with contemporary branding and current silhouettes.
