Rando The Random Photo-Sharing App By Ustwo

medium_38GQKp0xTJyeL5fR5qXd

Our Bigga Brotha Protein hooked us up with this exciting new App called Rando, Exactly like BasketBall Players that plays for the Boston Celtics but play that App plays a different Role, here is what Joe says about it :

“Rando is an app that is aiming to inject a little mystery back into proceedings. It delivers a single photo to a complete stranger without any details other than roughly where it was taken geographically and the sender seeing approximately where it ‘lands’. Acting as a way of recreating the nostalgic lack of information associated with film photography, much like Thirty Six, the app that digitally recreates the experience of shooting on a 36 shot roll of film, Rando, put together by design studio ustwo, seems like a refreshing way of dialing down on the information overload.”

As said by earlier by Joe the App created by U.K. mobile games and app developer studio ustwo, in other words each of your photos are randomly sent to another user and you never know who gets it so perfectly said “randos”, Just Downloaded it and Ready to randomly send to another user as you never know who gets it, totally random.

Exhibition: Infra by Chris Shen

INFRA09

Kicking off 2013 at 18 Hewett street in Shoreditch tonight is an exhibition devoted to the infra-red remote.

It’s been nearly 60 years since the recently departed Eugene Polly invented the now ubiquitous device. As an homage to the man and his creation Chris Shen has turned the tables and created a screen out of hundreds of discarded remotes, which reveals an image through infra-red glasses.

INFRA01

Interesting idea huh? If you’re intrigued then head down to 18 Hewett Street London EC2A 3NN
 before the 3rd of February!

Lynx Space Academy UK Launch (With Buzz Aldrin, Daisy Lowe, George Lamb and Dynamo)

article-0-16D34F00000005DC-704_634x402

Earlier on this week, I received an omninous invitation from Lynx to attend an event in Wimbledon Studios where there would be “…an announcement from a living legend.”

Intrigued by this I braved the rush-hour tube ride on the Northern line to the depths of South London to be greeted by an Astronaut who led us to the launch of the Lynx Space Academy.

On arrival you could have mistaken the launch for an episode of Battlestar Gallactica. There were girls in 70’s Sci-Fi costumes, Aliens who looked like Danny Dyer, space candy and a cloakroom that looked like a lunar landing module. Entertainment was provided by Dynamo who flirted with the crowd through the medium of magic. George Lamb was master of ceremonies whilst Daisy Lowe was the celebrity DJ.

After a two hour countdown and copious amount of beverages, Buzz Aldrin appeared on a giant screen to tell the world that Lynx are running a worldwide competition to be one of 22 people to get a free ride into Space aboard the Lynx SXC. Then the shuttle was revealed in all it’s glory, and the party continued into the small hours.

Nike Fuel Fest Recap

Sunday night saw Nike launching it’s first ever “Fuel Fest” and not being people who like to miss a huge free party we thought we’d check it out. Before the night began we were given a Nike Fuel Band, which measures your activity in terms of steps take and calories burned, and then assigns a value known as Nike Fuel.

The event took place at the iconic Battersea power-station in South London. Tinie Tempah, Zane Lowe and Magnetic Man were there to provide the entertainment… as they staged a dance off between the girls and boys. All the fuelbands were wirelessly connected to a computer which then calculated how many points each side had accumulated.

In the end the girls won dammit!

But despite the male race being humiliatingly defeated it was still a night to remember, the visuals alone were mind boggling…. check out our lovely gallery below:

Bottle your Summer with Carling Zest App Recap

So yesterday we told you about the new app that Carling have brought out to promote their new flavour of beer. And being the inquisitive people we are we thought we’d take some time to check it out ourselves. Basically the aim is to produce a two minute track, with a selection of samples provided, these range from dogs barking to bottles being opened.

Took some time for us to get used to all the controls but in the end we created something beautiful. In fact, this may well revolutionize the music industry… well maybe revolutionize is a bit strong, but you can certainly spend a couple of hours messing around with samples and pretending you’re a producer. And while you’re at it you could win the competition and bag yourself a free weekend at V Festival. Need I say more?

If you’re interested to see how we did have a look at this!

Samsung: Look. Don’t touch

If you’re wondering why Angela Belotte of Victoria’s Secret is here doing the Black Panther salute, she’s actually advertising a new range of Smart TVs which feature Samsung’s new motion control interface. Which instead of using an antiquated remote control, allows you to use hand movements to control your TV.

We reckon this is a step in the right direction, no more looking for that damn remote control, or finding that it’s been half eaten by your dog or flatmate. Soon everything will be controlled by hand movements including doors, lifts, hover-boards and your flying car. Anyway, as part of the campaign Samsung have produced this short propaganda movie, which shows how hilarious it can be to be a sexy model who owns one of these Smart TV’s. Enjoy!

Apple Jony Ive Receives Knighthood At Buckingham Palace

Jony Ive, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design received his knighthood at Buckingham Palace. The 45-year-old Brit, who is responsible for the iconic designs behind Apple’s computers and iOS devices, said he is “both humbled and sincerely grateful” for the “absolutely thrilling honor.”

In interview with The Telegraph, in which he talks about Apple’s design and its focus on simplicity, Steve Jobs, and the company’s current projects he says below :

“Our [Apple’s] goal is to try to bring a calm and simplicity to what are incredibly complex problems so that you’re not aware really of the solution, you’re not aware of how hard the problem was that was eventually solved. […] Simplicity is not the absence of clutter, that’s a consequence of simplicity. Simplicity is somehow essentially describing the purpose and place of an object and product. The absence of clutter is just a clutter-free product. That’s not simple. The quest for simplicity has to pervade every part of the process. It really is fundamental.”
