The BET Awards ’13 on July 1 are changing in a major way this year the awards ceremony is moving from the Shrine Auditorium to the Nokia Theatre.
BET are transforming the BET Awards into a weekend-long music festival bringing together both old and new artists. This years three day event will include performances from Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg, The Jacksons, and more.
Coincidently Beyoncé will serve as the main event and will be the fist scheduled act to open “BET Experience at L.A. Live” When she brings her unique flavour to town in the form “The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” at the Staples Center on Friday, June 28. Also on the 28th Erykah Badu will play a show at Club Nokia.
June 29th Snoop Lion, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, and SchoolBoy Q will represent the West Coast at the Staples Center. The aftershow party is billed to be The Roots performance over Club Nokia.
June 30th BET will be holding a Sunday service with gospel sensation Kirk Franklin at Club Nokia. Later in the day a cast of R&B veterans R. Kelly, New Edition, and The Jacksons will perform at Staples.
Tickets for individual shows go on sale February 11 / packages for the entire weekend start at $1,000.
