Oscars 2014: 86th Academy Awards Winners

So now the dust is settling from the 86th Academy awards and the list of awards is out in the public domain. Cate Blanchett won best actress in Woody Allen’s ‘Blue Jasmine,’ Matthew McConaughey won best actor for his body morphing role in ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’ and the current it girl of Hollywood Lupita Nyong’o won best actress in a supporting role for ’12 Years a Slave.’

Competition was tough this year and many of the awards were scooped up by ’12 Years a Slave’ and ‘Gravity.’
Noticeably absent though was ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ for which Leonardo Di Caprio was nominated best actor and Martin Scorcese nominated for best director.

Best Film Editing: Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón, Mark Sanger)

Best Foreign Language Film: The Great Beauty (Italy)
