The first indicators that Notting Hill Carnival preparations are well underway were seen earlier this morning as contractors wearing high visibility jackets were seen putting up the traditional carnival route barriers and adding high fencing to residential areas in Westbourne Park at 09:20am The carnival route and sound systems will be published soon. Despite rumours of a cancellation this is actually evidence that this years Notting Hill Carnival is in full effect, based on the feedback from local residents, pan players, bloggers and events organisers, this could possibly be the biggest and best carnival ever.
