A little over a year after releasing his “Nostalgia, Ultra” mixtape, which included a creative cover of Coldplay’s “Strawberry Swing,” Frank Ocean will be gallivanting around Europe with the U.K. arena rockers later this summer. The R&B newcomer will join Coldplay (as well as fellow openers Marina & The Diamonds) on 10 dates beginning Aug. 28 in Copenhagen. Swedish pop veteran Robyn, Irish alt-rockers Ash and Roc Nation singer Rita Ora have also been announced as openers for Coldplay’s European tour, which kicks off May 18.
Coldplay, who opened the event with an explosive, pyrotechnic-laden run through “Mylo Xyloto” track “Charlie Brown,” won best British group, as voted by listeners of the U.K.’s most popular radio station, BBC Radio 2. Collecting the award, drummer Will Champion said “We have to say a very special thank you to all the discerningly, beautiful, intelligent, clever Radio 2 listeners.”
“We’re so happy to get this award and we thank everybody who is still listening to us,” added singer Chris Martin.
The Beautiful Songstress performed her number One hit “We Found Love” representing her Caribbean heritage with some Dance Hall Moves there and there. She also paying her homage to the Legend Whitney Houston as she yelled “Grammys, make some noise for Whitney” Following Coldplay very own Chris Martin came on stage to perform their single “Princess of China”. Adele has been announced to make her return live at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on February 12th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The British Singer is nominated for six awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Rolling in the Deep” and Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 21. She joins a lineup of performances that includes Coldplay and Rihanna, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Glen Campbell and the Band Perry, Bruno Mars and the Foo Fighters as the ceremony will be hosted by Hip-HOP Legend LL Cool J
