Big Sean returned to Detroit last week and made good on a promise to the students at his alma mater, Cass Technical High School. Following a trend started by UK Rap Artist Tinie Tempah who “recently returned to his old school and was overwhelmed to find out that a new studio had been built in his name to honour his talent, ambition and success.” in 2012.

Sean told them he would build them a recording studio if they raised their ACT score. With the help of Adidas, he did just that and opened the 784-square-foot Sean Anderson Studio of Infinite Possibilities. During the ceremony, The Good Music rap artist real name Sean Anderson spoke to students and received tributes from the mayor’s office.

“I can’t believe I used to rap at the lunch tables, slang my CDs in the hallways, and fast forward less than 10 years later I’m opening up my own recording studio at my old High School Cass Tech for the students! This brings me tears of Joy!” he announced via twitter.
