Chance the Rapper collaborates with director Colin Tilley in the VICE short film “Mr. Happy.” The 23-minute film sees Chancelor Bennett aka Chance the Rapper tackle the role of Victor, a depressed man on the brink of suicide. After several attempts to kill himself, he uses the worlds most popular search engine “Google.” and discovers MrHappy.com, a website where a multiple choice questionnaire allows you to hire a hitman to kill you. However after Victor has paid $10,0000 via credit card and has selected his date to die (Valentines Day), a coincidental customer interaction at work forces him to reflect on his failed attempts leading him to question whether he actually really wants his life to end.
The trailer servers as a captivating introduction to a short film which stars actress Salli Richardson-Whitfield (“Being Mary Jane”) as Grammy and Tony Award-winning stage and screen star Lena Horne, who not only was a groundbreaking performer, a classy, beauty icon and a passionate American civil rights activist.
