Freida Pinto cover the Esquire April issue, The star reveals a whole new side in these exclusive pictures. She was the Indian girl with the faraway eyes in Slumdog Millionaire, the best-supporting hottie in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
What British audiences perhaps don’t yet know about Freida is that she’s also a funny, no-nonsense, fast-talking Anglophile who loves London almost as much as her home town. “Even though it’s so dreadful in the winter, I still think it’s beautiful,” she says. “So much culture and history. Like Bombay!”. The Photo-Shoot is directed by Photographer Yu Tsai as the Styling by David Thomas.

Yesterday, Plan B aka Ben Drew released a new single that comes off the soundtrack for his upcoming directoral debut film, iLL Manors. The track shares the same title as the film and it shows a strong departure from Plan B’s previous efforts on The Defamation of Strickland Banks and instead sees the singer return to his rap-roots in an oh-so-delicious way. He’s back to taking jabs at politics and the working classes, spitting out some pretty solid verses on top of a really wonderful violin-infused dance beat. It’s a return to the Plan B I loved on Who Needs Actions When You Got Words. Take a listen to the single “iLL Manors” below, which will be on the soundtrack for Drew’s film, out May 4th.

In the past five years that XXL has been picking Freshman classes, never once has making the list been easy. This year included. Similar to 2011, the hype around the Freshmen Class has continued to grow by leaps and bounds, surprising even us with its popularity. For this class the buzz began earlier than ever, four months before the cover was even shot. And it seemed like everyone had a list. From subdued music fans to diehard rap junkies, from Twitter stalkers to industry heavies and featherweight, folks wanted their list to be the XXL list.
