Last night we went down to the launch of the new collaborative art platform ‘Dudebox’ at Village Underdground in Shoreditch. The night was in collaboration with the art collective Monorex, who are best know for their live art battle events ‘SecretWars,’ and featured designs by Conzo, Hicks, Dust, Mr Gauky, Pete Fowler and Alfa.
There was hundreds of customized toys, sick music, a live art battle mojitos, hotdogs, sushi and blank Dudebox posters for people to draw on…. pretty much ticked all the boxes.

“Spanish designer maximo riera has continued this ‘animal chair collection’ with ‘the elephant chair’ as an homage to the largest animal walking the earth. Known for memory, intelligence and wisdom. the sculptural furniture object is a representation of the supreme deity ganesha. The overall structure is carved from compressed foam with an internal steel frame. the final object is enveloped in fine leather, allowing all the detail to be refined. although not as heavy as an actual elephant, the chair weighs 160 kg or 353 lbs. The throne, simultaneously furniture and sculpture, welcomes the animal into the human environment, an opposing statement to what has been happening for centuries in the wild. ”

ODOC is a minimal, timeless design that cues user intuition. Simply twist ODOC’s cylindrical form to set the perfect angle for viewing and using the iPhone’s touchscreen display. A ball-bearing mechanism locks the cylinder in five different positions. This patent-pending design intrigues and delights the user through its intuitive function. The cylinder holds iPhones with or without cases, and its weight is sufficient for single-handed iPhone removal. Backrests of different thicknesses adjust for the iPhone without a case and with cases of different thicknesses, storing inside the cylinder when not in use. The deep finish is a high-gloss powder-coat, available in iPhone white and clear over matte-aluminum. A matte-black powder coat finish is also available.

Spotify released its long-awaited iPad app on Wednesday and it is a thing of beauty. Its competitors, which include MOG, Rhapsody and Rdio — have all had iPad or Android tablet apps in the market for months. In a released statement here is what has been said : “We wanted to make sure we got the app just right,” Spotify told mashable while showing off the app.
Spotify’s app strategy is similar to that of Vevo and Vimeo in that the developers consider the use-case for each device when crafting the experience. There are unifying elements across the apps, of course, but the goal is to offer up the best experience for each product.
West Coast footwear brand Gourmet has unveiled a special sneaker for none other than Jay-Z himself, honoring the Nets’ historic move to Brooklyn. Dressed up in a sleek black colorway with the new Nets logo on the tongue, specialized Goyard fabric appears on the heel along with Jay-Z’s name. Key detailing comes in the form of tonal laces and expert stitching that gives way to a small “Gourmet” label just above the white soles. While there is no word on a release date, many speculate that the 22 L “Brooklyn Nets” is a one-off edition.
