Following on from a recent announcement Converse and Maison Martin Margiela Paris have released a short clip which includes a first look at an all white converse sneaker modified to fit Maison Martin Margiela’S brand identity, against a black drop moving in slow motion as it smashes through a thin white tile captured in video at a side angle. The eleven second preview suggests a collection which is minimal, clean and embodies the signatures of both brands. Watch the edgy promotional visual for the collection which is coming soon below.

Outkast other half Andre 3000, Gorillaz and former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy have joined forces to create an original track entitled “DoYaThing,” for Legendary brand Converse as it will be released as a free download on February 23rd on Converse’s official website to couple with a new Gorillaz footwear collection designed by Jamie Hewlett. “DoYaThing” is the latest installation of Converse’s “Three Artists One Song” campaign. Previous collaborations include Matt & Kim, Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K. for “I’m A Goner,” Santigold, Pharrell and Julian Casablancas on “My Drive Thru” and Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij from Vampire Weekend and Best Coast on “All Summer”. “There were moments where it could have gone all bad … just all of us just being creative people,” Cudder told MTV at the time. “But I think since the energy was good … we all found a way and we hit a couple of brick walls but we found ways around it.”

Converse have released the look book for its Spring 2012 Black Canvas premium apparel collection. Breaking the cycle of Heavy outerwear by capturing the essence of spring by introducing transitional/warmer weather iconic looks, relaxed style, natural fabrics diversifying for the first time since its launch in Fall 2011. Key pieces for the season include lightweight cotton henleys t’s, terry hoodies, cargo pants and vintage graphic tees. After releasing the successful Straight Shooter Ox, Converse are back with the follow up, the Straight Shooter Soec Hi. This First String model shares all the same design elements from its’ older sibling, only this time, it has been created in to a high model. The Straight Shooter Spec Hi still features the comfortable Lunarlon sole, with the addition of some minor detailing like the rubber toe-cap, the contrasting stitch that sits above the ankle, to the cut-out canvas triangular detail on the outer side-panel. Overall, a very sleek design.
