This week-end after the Adidas do-Over I came across this little marvel “Le fabuleux destin d’amélie poulain” a french Movie directed by Jean-Piere Jeunet in 2001. It is a charming and romantic comedy starring the Beautiful Audrey Tautou, the terrific Matthieu Kassovitz and the Most funniest modern french humorist Jamel Debouz. Amelie, is an innocent and naive young woman that lost her mother at an early age to add to her little drama she was misdiagnosed with an unusual heart condition, Amelie didn’t attend school with other children, but spent most of her time in her room developing an unusually active imagination to bore away the feelings of loneliness. She found pleasure in simple pleasures and letting her imagination roam free. Growing up when Princess Diana dies in a car wreck in the summer of 1997, and the the discovery of a childhood treasure Amelie is reminded that life can be fleeting and she decides its time for her to intervene in the lives of her eccentric entourage. An Unrealistic movie, enthusiastic and well interpreted by the actors, Amélie won two BAFTA Awards (including Best Original Screenplay), and was nominated for five Academy Awards fabulously directed and contain a beautiful message. I Like it a lot
These images are from Balmain Homme’s Fall 2011 campaign. The French fashion house continues to combine simplicity and elements of rock star aesthetic. This collection confirms Balmain’s quality of design work as well as reaffirming why the Men’s designer brand is popular with Artists Swiss Beats, Kanye West and Coldplay’s lead singer/song writer Chris Martin. Not surprisingly, Balmain continues to deliver impeccably cut and glamorous clothes in their military-inspired Autumn 2011 collection. Most eye catching are the chunky scarves, a fur vest, coats emblazoned with decorative stripes and gold button details, leather jackets and skinny jeans. The new seasons collection is definitely as success, if the campaign images are the direction that Balmain are pursuing.
