Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. Dope is a refreshing take on the identity drama and the struggles in youth of finding ones place in a world where everyone expects you to live in a box. The story follows the characters Malcom (Shameik Moore),Diggy (Kiersey Clemons) and Jib (Tony Revolori), three Englewood high school students essentially trying to survive in their last year before getting into college….ahem Harvard. However they manage to somehow spin into the hectic world of drug kingpins, genius cyber hackers, punk bands and first kisses. The film is a collage of mini predicaments, coming of age dramas and humorous adolescent lewdness’ sweetly packaged with a dedicated soundtrack featuring the likes of Nas, A Tribe Called Quest and surprisingly Korn.
SPECTRE follows the release of SKYFALL, the biggest Bond film of all time, which took in $1.1 billion worldwide. A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. On Monday the 6th of July I-Like It A Lot .com was treated with tickets to the first UK showing of Marvel studio’s Ant-Man at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square and boy did we enjoy ourselves.
