“Fittingly enough, Kitty Cash’s DJ career began on a dancefloor. The born and raised New Yorker forged an instant connection with her future best friend, up-and-coming R&B singer Kilo Kish, at a party on the Lower East Side while both were studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Kish enlisted Cash (real name Cachee Livingston) as her official DJ, and the rest was history. Balancing a side gig in fashion PR with touring and live appearances, it’s no surprise that Cash excels at the kind of poppy, up-tempo R&B that gets a room moving. Her debut mixtape “Love the Free,” a 19-track compilation of all unreleased material from artists like Kelela, Vic Mensa, and The GTW, captivated us when Vogue launched it late 2013. Maybe it’s because she’s always hanging out with her best friend, but Kitty Cash brings an energy that’s infectious and just plain fun.
Kitty Cash’s mix starts off with edits of Missing No and Jeremih, builds into mid-tempo R&B from Sade, Tinashe, and Tamia, then finishes with Kanye, Tyler the Creator, and a Stwo remix of Drake.”
