The unveiling of a 5 million pound cross road took placein Oxford Circus. due to the fact that crossing system has been remodelled andnow resembles what one Londoner described as “a lethal looking algebra x style crossing.” Thecrossing that was officially opened on Monday 2nd November 2009. Thecrossing was inspired by Tokyo’s scramble crossing, therefore instead ofcutting a ribbon Major of LondonBoris Johson banged a huge gong to declare the crossing open as Japanesemusicians played taiko drums.
