Reebok Presents: “CLASSIC” by Jonathan Mannion in Los Angeles

After a successful show at Art Basel in Miami, Reebok Classics teamed up again with photographer / director Jonathan Mannion to take his “CLASSIC” exhibition to Los Angeles during Grammy week. Another 17 images were carefully selected to add some west coast flavor, a female dimension and an R&B presence to the show. The expansion yielded a total of 52 prints on display. Continuing his collaborative series with artists, Mannion showcased the visual contributions from Nipsey Hustle, Pharrell, DJ Quik and Big Daddy Kane on their respective images.

Don Cornelius, the smooth-voiced television host who brought black music and culture into America’s living rooms when he created the dance show “Soul Train” helped break down racial barriers and broaden the reach of black culture with funky music, groovy dance steps and cutting edge style. He was a true legend of music who brought soul to an International stage Soul music, R&B and even Hip-hop they put out for the world to see Legend artists such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder and more. We were sad when we learn the music legend died early Wednesday of an apparent suicide. The official video for the second single to be lifted from Mary J Blige… has been released, however those who are expecting a cinematic masterpiece will be disappointed, even more of a shock is the fact that Drake does not feature in this video, neither does his verse play any significant role in the final cut of the music video. Although the video is does not feature a solid narrative structure, the video instead consists of a variety of different beauty shots, great styling which stays true to and compliments Mary J Blige’s unique style of swagger and choreography.
